Back by popular demand is historian and author Dr. Claiborne Skinner who spoke to us last year (photo).
Dr. Skinner will explain how the Chicago region during the American Revolution set the course for American expansion
in the years after the war. Dr. Skinner, who teaches at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, was named the
2008 Outstanding Teacher of American History by the Daughters of the American Revolution. We were enthralled by his talk last year.
In addition to the speaker's presentation, we will honor this year's Law Enforcement
award winner, Deputy Ron Smith of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. We will also honor Firefighter Chris Murphy of the
Lisle Woodridge Fire District. This will be our chapter's first Fire Fighter award. Please reserve October 25th on your calendar and mail in your check.
